Manaslu
Manaslu Trekking
You start in Kathmandu by catching the bus to the head of the trail at Soti Khola. In three weeks you walk around the Manaslu massif and from the first day you have wonderful views of the high mountains of Ganesh Himal, Himchuli and later on also Manaslu. You pass maniwalls (prayerwalls), Buddhist monasteries and many waterfalls during your climb following the Buri Gandaki river. After 13 days you cross the Lakya La. From the pass you can see as far as the Annapurna's and Dhaulagiri. In the last week you gradually descend towards the village of Besisahar. Here we take a bus back to Kathmandu.
Nowadays there are sufficient teahouses along the Manaslu trail. But we can also organise a tent trekking.
Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking
This trekking combines the beautiful Manaslu Round Trekking
with a side trip up the unique Tsum Valley. The Manaslu Trek is opened
since 1991 and Tsum Valley since 2008, that is why you can explore rather unspoilt
Tibetan villages during this trek.
The trek starts in Arughat (600m). The path follows the Budhi Gandaki
River for a couple of days. After Ekelbhatti the route heads into the
Tsum Valley. At the village of Mu Gompa
(3800m) you turn around and the route
heads back down the Tsum Valley to the Manaslu Round Trek at the village
of Deng (1800m).
Here you continue your hike
around the Manaslu massif and have wonderful views of the high mountains of
Ganesh Himal, Himchuli and later on also Manaslu. You pass maniwalls
(prayerwalls), Buddhist monasteries and many waterfalls during your climb. You
will cross the Lakya La (5152). From the
pass you can see as far as the Annapurna's and Dhaulagiri. In the last week you
gradually descend towards the village of Besisahar. Here you catch a bus back to Kathmandu.
